How to make memes in Claude

Why Claude cannot do this on its own
Claude can write a very good meme caption. What it cannot do by itself is put that caption on the format people actually recognise — the specific clip, the specific reaction shot, the video everyone had on their feed last week.

Step 1 — Connect on claude.ai
The hosted connector uses OAuth, so there is no API key to copy and paste.
- 1Create a free Insider Memes account if you do not have one.
- 2Open claude.ai and go to Settings → Connectors.
- 3Choose Add custom connector.
- 4Name it Insider Memes.
- 5Paste the URL: https://mcp.insidermemes.com/mcp
- 6Continue to Insider Memes when Claude asks you to authenticate, log in and approve access.
- 7Open a new chat and make sure the Insider Memes connector is switched on.
Connecting requires a paid Insider Memes plan with credits on the account. Disconnecting the connector in Claude revokes access immediately.
Step 1b — Or use Claude Desktop with an API key
Claude Desktop needs a small local bridge. Install Node.js, reveal your key in profile settings, then add this to claude_desktop_config.json — ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/ on Mac, %APPDATA%\Claude\ on Windows. Quit Claude fully and reopen.
