This meme draws its inspiration from a dramatic scene set during World War I, where a soldier, seemingly left behind by his comrades, ends up avoiding a catastrophic fate. As the soldier attempts to catch up with a truck filled with his fellow soldiers, they drive off without him, only to hit a mine and explode shortly after. This scene, with its poignant and haunting soundtrack "Тёмная ночь" by BOGOSLOVSKIY, epitomizes the dark twist of fate where what initially seems like misfortune turns into a narrow escape. The image of the soldier in his gas mask, amidst the muddy trenches, captures the absurdity and irony of unexpected salvation in a war-torn landscape.
