The meme template featuring Adam Silver originates from his appearances during the NBA Draft Lottery. Known for his calm and composed demeanor, Silver's image is perfectly juxtaposed with the absurdity of the phrase "Get ready to learn Chinese, buddy." This line, spoken in a voiceover while Trench CT's "Built On Your Misery" plays, adds an unexpected twist to what is typically a formal setting. The meme plays on the contrast between Silver's professionalism and the chaotic implications of the statement, which is often used to humorously represent sudden and impactful announcements.
